Responsible Gaming

Promoting responsible gaming is part of the heritage and culture of Caesars. We believe that all entities involved in legal wagering have an obligation to promote responsible gaming.

Caesars pioneered the industry’s first responsible gaming efforts over three decades ago to help employees, guests, and the public understand the importance of responsible gaming and the prevention of underage gambling. Caesars continues to be the casino industry’s chief advocate for promoting responsible gaming through our responsible gaming programs, Operation Bet Smart® and Project 21®, as well as an Unattended Children Policy.

Caesars’ leadership in Responsible Gaming has been widely recognized and our Responsible Gaming platforms serve as models for the industry and regulators.

  • Caesars was the first to establish a Responsible Gaming Task Force to study problem gambling, which led to a series of groundbreaking initiatives, including the U.S. industry’s first-ever broadcast advertisement on the subject.
  • Caesars was the first to adopt a national system for honoring player requests to be removed from mailing lists and denied check-cashing and casino-play privileges.
  • In recognition of our leadership in responsible gaming, Caesars has received numerous honors and accolades, including the National Council on Problem Gambling’s first-ever corporate award.
  • Caesars developed the industry’s first formal social responsibility code of conduct in 2000.
  • Caesars was the first gaming company in the United Kingdom to receive accreditation by ACE (Accreditation, Certification and Evaluation), confirming that Caesars’ RG policies and procedures conform to the Playing Safe Core Code of Practice on Responsible Gaming.
  • In 2012, Caesars Windsor was the first casino to receive the Responsible Gaming Check Accreditation from Ontario’s Responsible Gambling Council.
  • Caesars Entertainment has invested more than US$3.4 million in information technology to reinforce the self-exclusion program, including the creation of “RG ID @ Slots.”
